Pakistan-China Trade and Investment Conference

Lahore, March 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): The 7-day Pak-China Trade and Investment Conference, under aegis of Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) will open tomorrow; Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s Zonal Office.

A business delegation from Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry, Shandong China, comprising of 24 members reached Lahore yesterday to attend the conference, which will continue till 31st March 2014. Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi, President PCJCCI told that basic purpose of this conference is to explore joint venture opportunities between Pakistan and China in various fields of trade and investment.

The Chinese delegation represents enterprises in trade, building materials, home appliances, lighting, machine and equipment and project contracting etc. and most of the members want to find opportunities related to their own business, he said and maintained that the delegation will keep their agenda quite open to explore any of the investment or trading opportunities in Pakistan.

Mr. Afridi said that Pakistan is an important country in South Asia offering good business prospects that has prompted Chinese entrepreneurs to come and explore Pakistani market for business matchmaking, joint ventures and investment.

He told that the Chinese delegation during its week-long stay in Pakistan will also hold meetings with significant organizations of the private and public sector which include FPCCI, LCCI, PBOI, FCCI, SCCI, SECP, ICPC, SMEDA and PCJCCI. The PCJCCI has completed the necessary arrangements and coordination in this regard.
