Pakistan and Turkey Strengthen Defense Ties, Focus on Regional Stability

Islamabad, In a significant meeting aimed at bolstering military relations, Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Metin Gurak and Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir convened in Rawalpindi today to discuss enhancing bilateral defense cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions covered a wide range of topics including defense, training, and collaborative initiatives to promote regional peace and stability. Both military leaders expressed a strong commitment to deepening the defense partnership between Turkey and Pakistan.

General Munir emphasized the importance of advancing existing military ties, while General Gurak praised Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining regional peace and its active role in counter-terrorism efforts.

The visit also included ceremonial honors for General Gurak, who laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and received a guard of honor from a contingent of the Pakistan Army, reflecting the deep respect and camaraderie between the two nations’ armed forces.
