Pakistan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Ties in IT and Telecom Sectors


Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Mr. Khazar Farhadov, met with Ms. Shaza Fatima, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication. The meeting, focused on enhancing cooperation in the information technology and telecommunications sectors, marks a key step towards deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.



According to Press Information Department, the discussions centered on mutual interests within the IT and Telecommunication sphere. Ambassador Farhadov extended his congratulations to Minister Shaza Fatima on her new role, emphasizing the importance of the sectors in fostering closer ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Both parties expressed a strong desire to increase collaboration, with Minister Fatima highlighting the brotherly relationship between the nations and the value Pakistan places on its connection with Azerbaijan.



Minister Fatima outlined several initiatives aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship, including the launch of a youth exchange program and the exchange of startups between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. She stressed the significance of starting joint IT training programs for the youth of both countries, underlining the fertile environment for foreign direct investment in Pakistan’s IT and Telecom sector. Minister Fatima assured full cooperation with Azerbaijan in these areas, citing the vast potential within Pakistan’s IT and telecom landscape.



Ambassador Farhadov acknowledged the progress Pakistan has made in the IT and Telecom sector, expressing Azerbaijan’s eagerness to enhance ties in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The meeting underscores a mutual commitment to leveraging the IT and Telecom sectors as a bridge to closer cooperation and shared prosperity.
