Pak HC in Delhi enquires about Gilani’s health

Srinagar, March 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Pakistani High Commissioner in India, Abdul Basit, visited the residence of the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, at Malviya Nagar in New Delhi today, and enquired about his health.

Ayaz Akbar, the spokesman of Syed Ali Gilani’s forum, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the High Commissioner conveyed the good wishes of Pakistan Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, to the ailing leader and prayed for his early recovery.

He said that Liaison Secretary of the forum, Altaf Ahmad Shah Advocate, Muhammad Shafi Reshi and Raja Merajuddin were also present on the occasion who apprised the Pakistan High Commissioner of health condition and treatment of Syed Ali Gilani. They told him that the health of the veteran Hurriyet leader was improving, he maintained.

Meanwhile, the spokesman strongly condemned the authorities for imposing strict curfew in Bandipora district and stringent restrictions in downtown Srinagar on the second consecutive day, today, and use of brute force on peaceful protesters.

He said that the Indian rulers and their puppet administration in the occupied territory were committing the worst kind of human rights violations and urged the world community and human rights organisations to take note of Indian state terrorism.
