Open Golf Championship Held At Karachi Golf Club

Islamabad, June 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): The opening ceremony of 17th CNS Open Golf Championship was held at Karachi Golf Club today. Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Khawaja Ghazanffar teed off on the picturesque KGC course during the opening ceremony.

Earlier during his address, Patron PN Golf and Director Tournament Commodore Abdul Aleem highlighted the role and achievements of Pakistan Navy in promoting different sports like Rowing, Sailing, Rifle shooting and specially Golf.

He said that Pakistan Navy is playing a significant role in promotion of Golf at the organization, Inter Services, national and international level. Holding CNS Golf championship successfully since 1995 manifests PN’s involvement and participation to take this game to targeted goals.

Dwelling upon the details of CNS Open Golf Championship, Commodore Abdul Aleem briefed that the tournament is being played at Karachi Golf Club from 28th June to 1st July 2012. The championship is open to various categories which include 18 holes match for junior, ladies and seniors, 9 holes match for veterans and 72 holes for professionals and amateurs. The prize include Rs. 3.7 million and Hole-in-One Toyota Vigo Champ for professionals and two golf sets for hole-in-One hit for amateurs.

The Patron thanked the sponsors for their efforts to promote Golf in Pakistan.
