One dish and closing of Marriage Halls at 10 PM, Murad Ali Shah given three months more to implement government decision

Karachi, October 29, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Sindh government has given three months more to the marriage halls association to implement the decision of serving one/two dish in marriage functions and wind up the [marriage] programmes by 10 pm. Now the new date to implement the decision has been fixed at February 1. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took this decision while holding a meeting with Minister for Industries Manzoor Wassan here at CM House today.

Mr Wassan briefing the chief minister said that he has started his consultative process with the office bearers of associations of the marriage halls to implement the government to close their halls by 10 pm. He said during the consultation with the marriage halls associations it has emerged that bookings for marriage functions and menu are made and decided at least three to four months in advance.

“Therefore it would be unreasonable to press the marriage halls management to dishonour their commitment with the people and reimburse them their paid amount,” he said and requested the chief minister to extend the implementation date by three months. The chief minister accepting the request of Mr Wassan extended the date and said now it would be implemented from February 1. He added that the decision was taken in the larger interest of the people.

“I have asked Mr Wassan to develop consensus among the marriage hall associations so that government decisions can be implemented with the support of marriage halls association,” he said and added that the decision of one or two dish was widely applauded. He directed Manzoor Wassan to continue his consultation with the stake holders, including the clubs for implementation of the government decision.
