OIC condemns Mogadishu terrorist attacks

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Friday’s terrorist attacks in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries of innocent people.

In a statement, the Organization reaffirmed its principled position that rejects and denounces all forms of violent extremism and terrorism.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen considered the explosions as a criminal act aimed at destabilizing security and stability of Somalia. He expressed the Organization’s full solidarity with the Somali government in its war on terrorism.

The OIC chief stressed his full confidence that Somalia would go beyond this stage and continue its path of restoring stability and prosperity. He offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Somali government and people, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.
