National Disaster Management Authority sends First Relief Consignment to Turkey

Islamabad: On the instructions of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan to provide relief and express solidarity with the distraught quake victims of brotherly Islamic country of Turkey, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has sent first relief consignment to Turkey.

In this regard the acting Chairman of Senate, Jan Muhammad Jamali and Chairman NDMA, Dr. Zafar Qadir handed over the first relief shipment to the acting Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan H.E Ayesha Jan Oztop at Islamabad Airport. Member (Operations) Brig Sajid Naeem and Logistic Head NDMA, Lt Col Muhammad Ali Haider Kazi (Retired) were also present on the occasion. The relief cargo included Two Hundred and Twenty (220) tents.

Turkey has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times and the two countries share historic relations on all levels. This humanitarian gesture by the government of Pakistan will be instrumental in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations.
