National Disaster Management Authority deploy Teams in Flood Affected Areas of Sindh

Islamabad: Monsoon rains that have resulted in flooding incidents in the country especially in Sindh have caused damages both to the public as well as to the private property besides loss of precious human lives and livestock.

A considerable portion of population of seven districts of Sindh has been affected predominantly in Badin district. Leading from front the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is carrying out rescue and relief activities in the disaster hit areas of Sindh in coordination with Sindh Disaster Management Authority and all Disaster Management authorities of the affected districts. At the special instructions of Dr. Zafar Qadir, Chairman Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), response teams of NDMA have been dispatched to the rain and flood affected areas of Sindh to ensure and facilitate in the timely provision of relief to the flood affected population.

The NDMA response teams stationed at Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan are coordinating with PDMA Sindh and all concerned DDMAs and DCOs to speed up the relief efforts. These teams shall remain in these rain/flood hit areas till the normalization of situation.

Besides the above, the Logistics Team of NDMA is already in Sindh since the inception of present monsoon rain disaster and is monitoring and coordinating relief activities, including dispatch of relief goods to the affected areas based on the ground requirements.
