National Assembly clarifies regarding educational testimonials of staff

Islamabad: Reference to a news item published in a section of press on 14th September, 2011 captioned “NA Staff reluctance for degree verification”, it is clarified that the collection of the educational testimonial of the staff of National Assembly Secretariat was in process.

The staff who have failed to submit their education testimonials up till now, have been directed vide final reminder dated 13 September, 2011 to submit their requisite documents within seven days failing to which they would be suspended from service.

As soon as the documents of all the employees of the Secretariat have been collected, the same would be sent to the relevant authorities for verification.

The Scribe has also pointed the finger on the National Assembly Secretariat for not showing its interest in implementation of the report of the Standing Committee on House and Library. It is also clarified that the National Assembly Secretariat is actively pursuing the case, subjudice before the Honourable Islamabad High Court.

In order to get the stay order vacated, services of a well reputed Attorney from the private sector have been hired and the expenditure in this regard will be borne by the Secretariat enabling the compliance of the orders of the House.
