National Accountability Bureau investigation team takes custody of main accused Tauqir Sadiq in Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority case from United Arab Emirates authorities

Islamabad, July 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi investigation team has taken the custody of main accused in OGRA case Mr. Tauqeer Sadiq from UAE authorities and got the accused extradited from UAE. The investigation team reached back in Islamabad today early in the morning along with the accused.

Tauqeer Sadiq is accused in OGRA corruption case worth Rs 80.56 billion. The accused is alleged to have granted illegal CNG licenses on the basis of fake NOCs, recitation and re-location of CNG stations, illegal appointments, and misuse of authority. His actions as Chairman OGRA are alleged to have benefited stock market tycoons at the expense of general public. He is accused of being involved in gas theft and leakage amounting to billions of rupees.

Tauqeer Sadiq will be produced before accountability court today for physical remand.
