Murderer of American journalist Daniel Pearl – United States Embassy does not disclose content of any confidential diplomatic exchanges: Spokesman

Islamabad, December 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): There have been inaccurate and misleading statements in the media today attributed to U.S. Ambassador Richard Olson regarding the murderer of American journalist Daniel Pearl.

While the U.S. Embassy does not disclose the content of any confidential diplomatic exchanges, we reiterate previous statements that those who are responsible for the murder of Daniel Pearl should be brought justice. The question of sentencing and punishment is the responsibility of the Government of Pakistan and its judiciary. Any suggestion to the contrary is false and unhelpful for seeking justice in the case.
