Mirwaiz urges Kashmiris to forge unity in their ranks
Srinagar, July 27 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has urged the Kashmiri people to forge greater unity among their ranks to fight oppression unleashed by New Delhi and its puppet administration in the territory.
Addressing a gathering in Srinagar, the APHC Chairman said that the people of Kashmir were fighting a genuine struggle for which they were being treated with bullets. The Mirwaiz called upon the Ulema, religious preachers and clerics to play their role in ending sectarian clashes in Badgam district. He said that the people should understand that sectarian clashes only served New Delhi’s intentions of institutionalizing oppression in the occupied territory.
“They (India) are happy that Muslims are fighting with each other in Kashmir. New Delhi would cash on this situation and follow the divide and rule policy. Once we would be divided on ground, they would rule us and their occupation would automatically be institutionalized,” he said. He cautioned the people to beware of India’s mindset of taking undue advantage of the crisis in the occupied territory.
On the killing of four innocent civilians in Gool area of Ramban on July 18, the APHC Chairman said that nothing had changed in Kashmir since 1931. “Desecration of holy Quran used to take place then and it continues now. Jamia Masjid was locked and Friday prayers were not allowed during autocratic rule of Maharaja Hari Singh and same is happening today,” he said.
The Mirwaiz condemned the move of the puppet administration of caging the pro-freedom leaders after Gool killings. “Caging Hurriyet leaders either in their own homes or putting them behind the bars have become a routine here,” he said.
He said that the APHC had already rejected the inquiry ordered by the puppet regime into Gool massacre. “If we see the inquiries and probes ordered since 1947 and especially inquiries ordered after 1990, not a single person has been prosecuted or indicted so far. We demand an impartial probe into Gool incident,” he added.
The APHC Chairman also denounced the arrest of youth in Srinagar and other parts of the occupied territory. He warned the puppet administration of dangerous consequences if it didn’t release all the arrested youth unconditionally.
