Mirwaiz denounces Ramban incident

Srinagar, July 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was placed under house arrest in Srinagar, today, has strongly denounced the Ramban incident and described it as naked barbarism by the occupation authorities in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement gave a three-day protest strike from tomorrow against the Ramban tragedy. He urged the Khateebs of all mosques to offer funeral in absentia of the innocent demonstrators killed by the India troops.

He said that even a common Muslim could not tolerate desecration of the holy Quran, adding that the Indian government and its puppet administration were responsible for the reaction of the Quran desecration. He said that the presence of draconian laws and Indian troops in the occupied territory was the main reason of rights violations.

The APHC Chairman said that India was massacring the people of Kashmir and the recent killings of Kashmiri youth in the Indian states had endorsed the Hurriyet claim.

He said that on one side the Indian government was talking about dialogue process, but, on the other, it was killing the innocent people of Kashmir even in the states of India. He added that dialogue and killing could not go side by side.
