Minister dispatches relief goods for needy people

Islamabad, July 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf today said that Saudi government and people have always stood by Pakistani nation in the need of hour and extended all possible help generously.

The minister was speaking on the occasion of dispatching of 25 truckloads of Ramadan food packages for needy people in different cities of the country.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf thanked the Saudi Government and the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) for the initiative and said this is indicative of the Saudi concern for the poor and needy people of Pakistan.

He said Saudi Arabia has always been in the forefront to provide relief to the people affected by earthquake, floods and economic hardship.

The minister dispatched 25 truck-loads of Ramadan Packages for deserving people in different parts of the country at a ceremony held at the office of Rabita Alam-e-Islami, sponsored by IIRO. Around eight thousand deserving families of 25 districts including Badin will benefit from the supply of these goods. Other areas include Bahawalpur, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Mansehra, Batagram, Rajanpur, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Islamabad.

Each package contains 10 kilograms of wheat flour; five kilo rice; two kilo each of sugar and pulses; one kilo each of dates and chickpea powder and two and a half litres of ghee.
