Micro management plan to control dengue virus
Karachi: “City District Government Karachi has initiated Anti Dengue campaign in city, therefore all the stakeholders including government and private organizations should participate in it and make this campaign effective so that the campaign could be extended to each and every street and home of Karachi”.
This was stated by DCO Karachi Mohammad Hussain Syed while addressing a meeting held in the Committee Room of Civic Centre. The meeting was attended by representative of Cantonment Board, Pakistan Railway, Civil Aviation Authority, KPT, Port Qasim, DHA, SSGC, Steel Mills and officers of City District Government Karachi.
DCO Karachi said that city government had already prepared a micro management plan to control the spread of dengue virus which is being implemented. Cantonment Boards should also carried out spray in their respective areas and the hospitals should setup special anti dengue cell which could be linked with the central anti dengue cell established in city government Karachi.
He said that the federal and provincial government was providing all kinds of support in this connection therefore all the officers must show full commitment and dedication. The special dengue ward established in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital can be contacted on 0800-12012 on 24 hour basis.
DCO Karachi informed the meeting that 90 percent of the patients suffered with dengue virus were kept in observation and platelets were provided to patients if their test proved positive.
He said that the dengue virus could only be eliminated with joint efforts, city government will carry on this campaign till November, and therefore all other organizations should include it in their preference…
