Lahore College for Women University inked a Memorandum of Understanding to execute a joint program on entrepreneurship

Lahore: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and Lahore College for Women University inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to execute a joint program on entrepreneurship.

The manuscript of the MOU was signed by Mr. Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, CEO SMEDA and Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, LCWU today at Lahore College University. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Liaqat Ali Gohar, DGM, Administration and Public Relations and Ms. Aisha Kamran Siddiqui, In Charge Women Entrepreneurship Cell from SMEDA.

Under the MOU, both organizations shall take concrete steps to exchange technical expertise in developing and executing “Entrepreneurship Program” to be launched at LCWU. Both the parties would regularly share information regarding their initiatives, programs and activities along with repository of information on women development. SMEDA, under this MOU would also be facilitating the LCWU student delegations visits to the SME houses on need basis. Both Parties would also manage to regularly participate in each others activities for Women Entrepreneurship Development, including LCWU upcoming Female Job Fair.

Earlier, while exchanging his views with the faculty heads of the LCWU, CEO SMEDA Mr. Yousaf Naseem Khokhar highlighted the services rendered by SMEDA to enhance women enterpreusrship in the country.

He specially referred to the Women Business Incubation Center set up by SMEDA at Lahore. He disclosed that the success of WBIC at Lahore had led to open such centers also in other business cities including Karachi and Peshawar where the centers had entered into operational phase.

Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, LCWU expressed confidence that partnership of his institution with SMEDA would be highly fruitful to promote women entrepreneurship in the country. He emphasized to lay down a long term road map to launch a collaborated move by SMEDA and LCWU to achieve targets set under the MOU.
