Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls to use empty containers for necessary blockade

Lahore, October 30, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the authorities concerned to use only empty containers for necessary blockade as containers having tradable goods could incur a loss billions of rupees to the business doing people who are in deep trouble because of ongoing situation while the containers filled with flammable material may cause any untoward incident.

In a statement issued here, the LCCI President Abdul Basit said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry had received a number of complaints from the businessmen that at quite a few places the authorities were using containers filled with material that is not a good thing as a large number of industrial chemicals are very dangerous and could easily rise to a tragedy.

The LCCI president said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry well understands that the protests and agitations always cause irreparable damage to the economy therefore it had already appealed to all the political parties to settle their issues on the negotiating table instead of taking them into the streets.

Abdul Basit said that international media is monitoring the whole situation in Pakistan therefore it would be wiser on part of the political players to show responsibility and commitment toward the country. The LCCI President said that political unrest is hampering the economic activities that would ultimately lead to unemployment and joblessness. He said that all political parties are responsible to safeguard the national interests therefore that should resolve the issues through talks and parliament.

The LCCI President said that politicians should understand well that political stability is must for rapid economic growth. He said that call of protests and sit-ins are badly affecting business environment and dragging national economy towards the destruction.

He said that country is already passing through a critical time of history and facing various internal and external challenges. He said that keeping in view the ground realities, heads of political parties should play a constructive role in the larger interest of the country.

Abdul Basit said that survival of the countries depends on sound economies and to achieve this goal, political stability is must therefore politicians should take a lesson from the developed economies and utilize all the national resources for the progress and prosperity of the country.
