Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to spend Rs. 76 billion on spread of Education this year: Yasmin Zia
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government was spending billions of rupees on the spread of education and raising literacy rate. Scholarships were being given for the encouragement of those talented boys and girls students who got distinction in different BISEs in the province so that the students, who were the future architecture of the nation, were attracted for gaining quality education to ensure their due role in the development of the nation.
These views were expressed by Mrs. Yasmin Zia Marwat, MPA while addressing the scholarship and certificates distribution ceremony on behalf of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa among those boys and girls who got positions in Matric and intermediate exams under the BISE Bannu.
The function beside DCO Bannu, officials of BISE Bannu and Education Department was largely attended by Principals of various colleges and schools, teachers, parents and students.
Yasmin Zia said that the government for the promotion of education and completion of various educational schemes in the province has allocated a record amount of Rs. 76 billion during the current financial year. She added that the people were being benefited from the policies of the sitting government.
The promotion of far flung areas which were neglected in the past was the top most priority of the present provincial government. It would directly benefit the oppressed and suppressed class of the society and would bring change in their socio-economic life, she said.
Mrs. Yasmin Zia Marwat called upon the students to work hard for attaining higher education and distinction which she said was in their own (students) interest. Later on, she distributed cheques of Rs. 10 and 15 thousand each and certificates respectively among 38 students who got distinction in the BISE Bannu Exams.
Earlier, the Chairman, BISE Bannu Sardar Bahadur Khan and DCO Bannu, Zahir Shah also spoke on the occasion. They eulogized the provision of scholarships and a like steps for the encouragement of talented students by the government and hoped that it would increase the trend of competition among the students in education sector which would have far reaching effects on the overall development of our nation, they concluded.
