Peshawar, Shakeel Ahmed, the Minister of Communications and Construction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced new initiatives to boost the professional skills and capabilities of the department’s Center Development and Maintenance division.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a briefing meeting, Ahmed detailed plans to train technical staff across the department’s district lab testing laboratories to meet current professional standards. This coordinated training aims to enhance the quality of ongoing development projects through stringent quality control and effective monitoring of engineers, technical staff, and contractors’ machinery among other aspects.

The meeting, which also included Secretary Communications and Construction Idris Marwat and Chief Engineer of the Center Development, focused on evaluating the performance of development projects, their ongoing maintenance, and design standards. The minister emphasized the establishment of high-quality lab testing facilities in all districts, staffed by qualified technicians. Furthermore, he stated that these labs must obtain a Certified Verification certificate to ensure compliance with modern standards, without which the department would withhold payments.

This initiative underscores the provincial government’s commitment to improving the infrastructure development framework by aligning it with contemporary requirements and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
