Kashmiris observing ‘Accession to Pakistan Day’ today

Srinagar, July 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Kashmiris are observing Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day, today, to reaffirm their pledge to continue struggle for achievement of the right to self-determination and to translate the idea of accession of the entire Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan according to the spirit of the 1947 resolution.

The day is observed by the Kashmiri people in renewal of the historical resolution of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan passed by the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir through their representative organization, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, in 1947 in Srinagar, demanding of the then Dogra rulers to materialize accession of the state to Pakistan according to wishes of majority of its population.

“Otherwise Kashmiris would have no option except waging armed struggle for liberation of their motherland”, the resolution had said.

After India’s illegal occupation on Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, the Kashmiris launched a struggle according to the spirit of the resolution and the freedom struggle is continuing with full vigour for last sixty-six years.
