Kashmir dispute root cause of killings in IOK: Shabbir Shah

Srinagar, July 24 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah terming the desecration of Holy Quran by Indian troops Gool in Ramban as unbearable and unpardonable crime, has vowed that unless the elements involved in the heinous crime are brought to book, the wave of anger and resentment will continue throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement commenting on the order about setting up of an inquiry commission into the Gool incidents, senior APHC leader said that the so-called inquiries were also ordered over Gawkadal, Bijbehara, Hazratbal, Sopore and Chattisinghpora massacres and Machchil fake encounter, but not a single culprit was ever punished.

Calling for an independent and impartial inquiry into the Gool Ramban incidents, he said the culprits are well known. He said the root cause of killing of Kashmiris by the Indian forces is the Kashmir dispute and unless this issue is resolved, such killings will continue.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah urged the OIC General Secretary, Professor Ekmeleddin to initiate some concrete steps to prevent the oppression and tyranny inflicted on Kashmiris by India.
