Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Administrator directs for prompt resolution of parking complaints

Karachi, July 23 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator and Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui directed Director Charged Parking Syed Raza Abbas Rizvi to take action for prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints regarding parking on various locations in Karachi during Ramazan and said that relevant officers should visit the locations and ensure that citizens were being charged set parking fee.

He said that only 43 charged parking sites were made in the city under KMC therefore citizens should park their vehicles on determined locations and not pay more than written fee on receipts. Parking fee of Rs5 for bike and Rs20 for vehicles have been set. If parking staff receive fee more than set amount then lodge complaints on 99230819 or too concerned officers.

He said as Eid was near rush was increasing around bazaars and shopping centres specially Tariq Road, Clifton, Nazimabad, Zaibunisa Street, Malir, Landhi, Bahadurabad, Shaheed-e-Millat road, Liaquatabad, Karimabad, Hyderi and other areas.

If parking was not done systematically then traffic flow would be affected immensely therefore city wardens along with traffic police have been deployed for maintenance of traffic flow so that citizens could be prevented from inconvenience during rush hours.

He said that relevant officers and staff should concentrate that citizens should not be charged more than decided fee in any case.

KMC Administrator also appealed citizens to cooperate with parking staff and park their vehicles in proper order on parking location so that traffic flow would not be affected.

This may be noted that KMC charged parking fee was only charged on the locations which include Hyderi Market Parking Lot, Naheed and Chase Super Stores, Sindbad, Hill Park, Zoo, Empress Market, Sareena Mobile Mall, Saasi Arcade, SSGC Office Hyderi, Meena Bazaar Karimabad, Bazar-e-Faisal, Karimabad, Shaheed Tayyab Ahmed Road from Flyover to Usman Memorial Hospital (both Sides), Beach Park Parking, Fariya Mobile and Raza Mobile Mall, KDA Market Gulshan, Anarkali Water Pump (Anarkali Bazar Water Pump to Karachi Institute of Heart Decease Hospital Sher Ali Talpur Road Fedral.B Area), Crystal Court, Clifton Centre, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad / Macdonald, Paradise Centre, Bagh Ibe-e-Qasim and Park Tower Clifton, Shahrah-e-Faisal( Both sides service road from Shahrah-e-Quaiden Flyover to Karsaz Flyover and Karsaz Flyover to Shahrah-e-Quaiden Flyover including Lal Qila Restaurant), Around Civic Centre Building inside road star from Caltex Pump to KBCA Club (behind Civic Centre) and Parking Lot in front of D.C East Office opposite Mashriq Centre, Saima Paari Mall Nazimabad, Hotel Metropole (Parking Lot in front of Central Hotel opposite Metropole Hotel Merewheter Road from Old Petrol Pump to PIA Cargo Office, Chase Store Clifton (in front of Chase Departmental Store Ocean Chapal Apartments infront of Beach View Park Clifton), Glass Tower (Parking Lot in front of Glass Tower both sides service roads adjacent to Glass Tower and PSO House), Boat Basin, Liaquatabad Super Market, Dolmen Mall North Nazimabad Block-B, D.C Office Central, Chase / Marx Departmental Store Pizza Hut, Mulla Nehari House and Dilpasand Sweets, Nazimabad Block-A, Nazimabad Driving License Branch, Hyper Star, Dolmen Mall Clifton, Emmerylled Tower, II Sword Clifton, Gul Plaza, Sindhi Muslim Roundabout, Radio Pakistan, Rainbow Centre Saddar, Nadra Office Landhi # 3 ½ , Mobile Market Korangi # 4, Babar Market Landhi # 3, Old City Area ( Hasrat Mohani Road, Old Queens Road Wallace Road, Talpur Road, Mumtaz Hassan Raod, Altaf Hussain Road), Saddar (Abdullah Haroon Road, Zaibunisa Street), Parking Lot and Service Road in front of Imtiaz Super Market Nazimabad-7.
