Karachi: In a press statement issued today, KESC has strongly condemned the target killing of one of its senior officials, Col. (Retd) Muhammad Ali Saqi who was an integral part of KESC’s security department.

The statement said that Col. (Retd) Saqi was an extremely dedicated and a hardworking member of the team that was assigned the task of eradicating corruption within KESC. “His target killing would adversely affect our efforts to eradicate the menace of corruption within KESC ranks” said one of the officials. The official further stated that the tragic demise of Col. (Retd) Saqi has come at a time when KESC is up against both internal and external forces that are resisting the change and reform process in KESC. “We, however, remain committed to further the mission of our colleague with even greater fervour”.

KESC management has expressed deep condolence and solidarity with the family of the deceased colleague and urged the government to bring his murderers to justice. The Government must take a serious notice of this extreme act of terrorism, against an important official of a private sector company, and ensure security of KESC’s people and assets.
