Karachi Electric Supply Company rewards workers who served Karachi amid threats and violence
Karachi: Karachi Electric Supply Company has announced a reward of one month’s basic salary for the core field workers of the utility in appreciation of their continuous and fearless services towards power consumers of Karachi in the face of great hardships and threats caused by the ongoing illegal strike of now defunct Labour Union and their external aides.
KESC has declared thousands of these conscientious and devoted core workers as a “pride group” of the utility and has also put them on the special “star performance list”. KESC saluted the employees who in the recent past and in the face of the challenges posed by a few hundred striking employees, have risen to the occasion beyond the call of duty. They served the consumer of Karachi 24/7 by putting not only their own safety and security at risk, but also that of their families.
These conscientious and fearless employees devised ways and means by thinking and acting outside the box to ensure that electricity is provided to the domestic, commercial and industrial consumers of Karachi, KESC said. No matter what was the nature of the challenge, these employees put their hearts and souls in achieving their noble cause i.e. “uninterrupted supply of electricity to the entire city of Karachi, to the best of their abilities”.
These dutiful and dedicated workers are the real assets of the company and we are touched by their relentless commitment to serve over 20 million people of Karachi, the statement concluded.
