Just solution to Kashmir dispute inevitable: Shabbir Shah

Srinagar, August 04, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, senior Hurriyet leader and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that India cannot keep its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir for long saying that a just and peaceful resolution to the long-pending Kashmir dispute is imperative for peace in the region. Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who continues to remain under house arrest in Srinagar, addressing a party meeting at his residence, today, said, “The world powers and institutions must not sideline the lingering Kashmir dispute.

We, as oppressed and subjugated people, reiterate our appeal to the United Nations, European Union, OIC and SAARC countries to stop acting as mute spectators and play role in resolving the Kashmir issue, in the better interest of peace in the region.” Shabbir Ahmed Shah also lauded Pakistan for its unwavering, unflinching and constant support to the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their birthright, the right to self-determination.

He expressed serious concern over the growing activities of communal forces in Jammu region, saying that the Jammu Muslims should never think that they were alone. “The attack and vandalizing of properties and hotels of Muslims in Jammu region are provocative acts and can give the situation an ugly turn.” The meeting was attended by Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari and other party leaders and activists.
