July 31 a watershed in Kashmir history: JKLF

Srinagar, July 31 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik has said that July 31st signifies an epoch-making event in the resistance history of Jammu and Kashmir.

Muhammad Yasin Malik was addressing a convention of Front workers at Maqbool Manzil in Srinagar, which was held in connection with the Silver Jubilee of resistance phase of the freedom movement that started on July 31, 1988 with some blasts at Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

Muhammad Yasin Malik on the occasion said, “This is the day when Kashmiris changed the course of their history and started a new era of resistance with fresh zeal.”

“The journey started on this day in 1988 still continues with full enthusiasm and passion,” he added

“It was Shaheed Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed sheikh Abdul Hameed and many other young people who started this new journey of resistance that changed the course of our 5000-year old history,” he reminded.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary of Peoples Freedom League, Ghulam Ahmad Parray in a statement denounced the order issued by the occupation authorities through which it has been incumbent upon the government employees to participate in the 15th August celebrations.
