JKLF stages protest in Islamabad against Gool killings

Srinagar, July 23 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, scores of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leaders and activists gathered in front of National Press Club Islamabad to mark their protest against human rights violation perpetrated by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

Besides JKLF supreme head Amanullah Khan, protest demonstration was also attended by Rafique Ahmed Dar, Saleem Haroon, Muhammad Saleem Butt, Raja Mujtaba and Mashal Malick, the wife Muhammad Yaseen Malik.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders expressed grave concern over the worsening human rights situation in Kashmir. Referring to the highest military concentration in the territory, they said Kashmir happens to be the world’s largest militarized zone.

The speakers said that the political leadership who raised their voice against this inhuman act including the Chairman JKLF, Muhammad Yasin Malik were either arrested or detained in their houses.

Later, the JKLF activists also presented a memorandum to the UNMOGIP office in Islamabad. The memo urged the UN Secretary General to constitute a special commission to probe the Gool incidents, extra judicial killings, unmarked graves, disappearances, harassment and massacres that took place in Kashmir during the last two decades.
