It is pressing time that unity among Muslim Ummah is promoted: Awan

Islamabad, June 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): “It is pressing need of the time that unity among Muslim Ummah needs to be promoted and strengthened”

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services said this while attending the conference to promote inter-faith harmony here at Marriott Hotel which was organized by Adara Taqreeb-i-Mazahib-i-Islamaia. The head of Adara Taqreeb-i-Mazahib-i-Islamia Hazrat Aiyatullah Al Uzma Taskheree also graced the occasion.

Dr Firdous said that the Muslim Ummah was passing through a very critical phase and it was high time that Muslims should unite their ranks and promote harmony amongst themselves. The minister also said that Ulema, politicians and media can play a greater role in this regard.

“The message of peace and love needs to be spread out”, stated the minister.

The minister said that given the current global scenario there was a need to initiate global dialogue in order to promote inter-religious understanding and respect. Dr Firdous also said that such seminars and conferences should be frequently organized to promote inter-faith harmony, peace and love.

Other religious scholars including Khanam Tayyiba Bokhari also attended the conference.
