Makkah: Islamic countries and the OIC have warmly welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Trkiye. Regarding the defence agreement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the agreement, based on collective defence, would enhance cooperation in security and defence-related joint projects.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Erdogan emphasized that the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement is not directed against any country and is open to all brotherly nations that seek peace and stability. He expressed his hope that the agreement would become a source of goodness, blessings, peace, and stability for the entire region.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also extended congratulations to the three countries on the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. In his message, he described the agreement as a crucial milestone for peace, development, and prosperity for the populations of all three countries. He noted that the agreement would aid the nations in addressing common threats impacting regional stability.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) characterized the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Trkiye as a significant development. Secretary-General Hissein Ibrahim Taha expressed full support for the agreement and praised the leadership and efforts of the three countries in its conclusion.
The Kingdom of Bahrain's Foreign Ministry also welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, acknowledging the strong defence capabilities and military expertise of the three countries. Similarly, Yemen expressed strong support for the agreement, noting its importance in the context of security in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Somalia's Ministry of Defence, in a statement, highlighted that the agreement would establish a trusted strategic partnership to address common security challenges and promote regional peace, stability, and international security.
Sheikh Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, also welcomed the agreement, noting its special significance being concluded in the sacred surroundings of Makkah.
