Islamabad Police Arrest Seven, Seize Weapons in Citywide Crackdown

Islamabad, In a significant crackdown against criminal activity, the Islamabad Capital Police have arrested seven individuals and seized multiple firearms over the past 24 hours. The arrests and confiscations come as part of a broader effort to enhance security and reduce crime in the capital city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were conducted following directives from Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari, who has called for an intensified effort to root out criminal elements. Teams from various police stations successfully located and apprehended suspects across different districts, recovering handguns and rifles in the process.

The operations included the capture of individuals in possession of illegal weapons, with police teams from Margalla, Karachi Company, Nilore, Khanna, and Noon police stations involved in the arrests. The seized weapons range from 30 bore pistols to a Kalashnikov and a 12 bore rifle. The police have registered cases against the accused, and further investigations are ongoing.

DIG Bukhari reiterated the commitment of the Islamabad Capital Police to the safety and security of the citizens, emphasizing that no laxity would be tolerated in maintaining public safety.
