Islam gives message of inter-religious harmony: Metropolitan Commissioner

Karachi, November 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): Metropolitan Commissioner KMC Samiuddin Siddiqui said Islam is the religion of peace and stability as it delivers the message of religious harmony and negates any religious extremism or hatred.

He said this while addressing a program of Dewali held by the National Inter-Religious Harmony Council of Pakistan which was also attended by Nasir Ali Jahangir, Nadeem Shaikh Advocate, Zulfiqar Ali Shah of KMC Sajjan Union, Uttam Parkash and other leaders of minorities and Hindu Community.

Metropolitan Commissioner said the festival of Dewali gives a lesson of love and brotherhood and many persons from Hindu Community were serving on different posts in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. All minorities in Pakistan have equal religious rights and the doors of literature and culture were opened for them.

The program was also addressed by Nasir Ali Jehangir of Inter-Religious Harmony Council of Pakistan, President of Sajjan Union KMC Zulfiqar Ali Shah and others.

In the end Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui cut Dewali Cake along with the guests who came from India.
