IOK woman dies with the wish to meet detained son

Srinagar, October 11, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the mother of a youth who has been booked under the black law, Public Safety Act (PSA) has passed away at a hospital in Srinagar.

The mother of the detainee, Muhammad Shafi from Beerwah town in Budgam district breathed her last at the Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar.

The deceased was identified as Hajira Bano (50) whose son was arrested on September 7 and later booked under the PSA on September 11.

As per her family members, the detention of her son led to deterioration of her health as she was not keeping well earlier as well.

“She was eager to meet her son who has been shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu. She was admitted in Soura hospital and was diagnosed with blood cancer,” said Abid Wani, cousin of Shafi.“She was yearning to see her elder son but we couldn’t move her to Jammu in such condition.”
