IOK present situation thoroughly discussed

Islamabad, April 22, 2019 (PPI-OT): A meeting of the journalists belonging to occupied Kashmir was held with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter in Islamabad, today. The present situation of Kashmir was thoroughly discussed in the meeting. The Kashmir-based journalists took keen interest in the Kashmir dispute and presented several suggestions in this regard.

On the occasion, the APHC Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani attracted their attention towards special efforts for activating media to highlight Kashmir dispute. He also hailed the role of journalists in projecting the Kashmir dispute at international level.

Hurriyat leaders speaking on the occasion expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir. They said that India was committing the worst kind of brutalities in the territory. They said that the Indian infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) was summoning Hurriyat leaders to New Delhi in fake cases only to harass them but India would never succeed in its nefarious designs. They said that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle for Kashmir liberation till taking it to its logical conclusion.

At the end of the meeting, special prayers were offered for the martyrs of Kashmir. Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Abdul Majeed Mir, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Nisar Mirza, Abdul Majeed Malik, Abdul Hameed Lone, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Nazir Karnai, Shamim Shawl, Haji Sultan Butt, Imtiaz Wani and Sheik Abdul Mateen participated in the meeting.

The Kashmir-based journalists included Muhammad Ashraf Wani, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Raees Ahmad Mir, Zahoor Ahmad Sofi, Abdul Aziz Digu, Yunas Nabi Baig, Lateef Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ilyas, Abdul Basit, Ghulam Muhiudding Dar, Maqsood Muntazir, Shahbaz Budgami, Hilal Ahmad and Zia Manzoor Dar.
