Inspector General Police Punjab directs District Police Officers to visit Inter-Provincial Border Check Posts and Riverine Posts at least once in a month

Lahore, October 18, 2016 (PPI-OT): IGP Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has directed District Police Officers (DPOs) to visit Inter-Provincial Border Check Posts and Riverine Posts at least once in a month and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) once a week and to report concerned Regional Police Officers regularly. He advised field officers to keep themselves emotionally attached to their force and take utmost possible steps for their welfare so that they should work with more sincerity, dedication and commitment. IGP stated this while chairing a video-link conference held at Central Police Office, Lahore on Tuesday.

IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera also said that Riverine Posts and Inter-Provincial Check Posts’ officials, vehicles and motorbikes should not be used for any other purpose. Any vehicles or motorbikes deputed for other official duties should instantly be sent back to these check posts.

(Retired) Arif Nawaz, Add: IG PHP Amjad Javed Saleemi, Add: IG Establishment Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG R and D, Ishaq Jehangir and other police officers were also present in the meeting.

IGP directed all RPOs and DPOs to complete ACRs of Police officials and send to Central Police Office within a week to precede promotion cases faster. He further directed to arrange Promotion Board Meetings at earliest to promote officials waiting for promotion at range level. He said, cases for promotion of DSPs to the rank of SPs should be sent to CPO from all ranges without any delay.

Orders of transfers and promotions of Police officials should be updated in Human Resource Management System immediately so that information regarding deployment of officials should be up-to-date in system. Officials assigned to these duties should not be transferred frequently and should have a specific period of service on same duty, He further added.

Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera appreciated performance of all RPOs and DPOs for excellent security arrangements during Muharam and Ashura. Police force deserves admiration on providing security during Muharam with great professionalism, dedication and patriotism, he further said. He said, despite threats of terror attacks during Muharram, Punjab Police has fulfilled its duties with great valour and dedication and proved that it has ability to battle any challenge.
