Post: Information Minister Directs Transformation of PTV Academy Into Modern Training Center

Islamabad:Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has directed the relevant authorities to develop a comprehensive strategy for transforming the PTV Academy into a modern training center. This initiative aims to equip young people with professional skills in film, drama, and digital content production.

According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar issued these directives during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, which focused on plans for the revival of the PTV Academy. The meeting was attended by Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil and senior officials from the Ministry of Information.

The Information Minister emphasized that the revival of the PTV Drama and Film Academy, along with the revamping of PTV Home, is part of the government's commitment to promoting the media and creative industries. A new program is being launched to provide advanced color-grading training within Pakistan, reducing the need for individuals to travel abroad for such education.

Tarar highlighted that the new facilities would grant the film industry and private sector access to modern technical training, improving the quality of local filmmaking. A transparent and practical pilot project will be initiated in collaboration with the private sector to align training programs with industry requirements.

He also instructed that all necessary measures be taken to make the PTV Academy a fully functional and effective training institution. The government prioritizes imparting practical skills to young people in fields such as film, drama, editing, color grading, and digital content production.

Training programs will focus on practical work, project development, and portfolio preparation, alongside theoretical education. The initiatives will support the creative projects of young people in PTV News, PTV Home, and Pakistan Television.

Efforts will also be made to transform the PTV Academy into a financially sustainable institution, complementing its development as an effective training center. The meeting reviewed various models for the revival of the PTV Drama and Film Academy, including collaborations with the private sector to provide practical training and generate new revenue sources for PTV.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the establishment of modern classrooms and studio labs, the installation of workstations for students, the appointment of technical staff and trainers, and the preparation of course content.
