India’s stubbornness main cause of regional instability

Srinagar, November 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronized by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India’s stubbornness on the Kashmir dispute during the past 66 years has been the main cause of instability and uncertainty in the region.

The forum at a meeting chaired by Syed Ali Gilani, in Srinagar said that in principle it was not against the dialogue processes between India and Pakistan. However, it said, any such effort will remain futile unless meaningful and sincere attempt is made to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

The participants said that despite atrocities and all repressive measures, occupation authorities could not deter people from perusing their struggle for securing their right to self-determination and their passion for achieving freedom from India was becoming stronger with each passing day.

They maintained that if their activities were not restricted during the so-called elections, they would prove that the election drama in presence of more than seven lakh Indian troops was only a military operation and majority of people would remain aloof from the exercise.

The meeting further said that all the pro-India parties taking part in polls were same and were harming the cause of Kashmiri people. The participants also paid rich tributes to Jammu martyrs.
