Indian troops martyr one more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara

Srinagar, July 29 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their continued act of state terrorism martyred one more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district, today. Troops during continued military operation killed the youth in Keran area of the district.

On the other hand, over a dozen people were injured in violent actions of Indian police and paramilitary forces against the protesters in Hajin area of Bandipore district.

Scores of people, mainly youth, took to streets in Hajin on Sunday after news spread that puppet Education Minister Mohammad Akbar Lone was visiting Sudnara and Mokdanyar areas of the district. Protesters chanted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The forces used brute force against the protesters, injuring many.

On Saturday, people attacked Mohammad Akbar Lone’s cavalcade near Shah Gund when he was in the town to condole the demise of a political activist.

Meanwhile, the forum led by Syed Ali Gilani in a statement condemned the brutal torture of a youth by Indian police in Kupwara district. The youth has been admitted to a hospital in critical condition.

The police arrested, Asif Ahmad Pair along with four other youth on July 26 for participating in protest demonstrations. The forum warned the authorities of dire consequences if something untoward happened to the youth.
