Indian trooper commits suicide in IOK

Srinagar, March 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian trooper committed suicide in Rajouri district. The trooper identified as Ranjit PM, killed himself by hanging himself with a fan inside his barrack at his unit in Nowshera area of the district.

Several such cases have taken place in Rajouri and Poonch districts in the past few months. The reasons for taking such extreme steps are domestic problems, long duty hours in hostile conditions and delay or denial in sanctioning leave, Indian media reports said.

The incident has brought such deaths among the Indian army and police to 307 since January 2007 in the occupied territory. Meanwhile, another Indian trooper identified as Sunil Chowdhary was crushed to death after he came under a train at Barian in Samba while he was going to his hometown Rajasthan in India on leave.
