Indian police thrash, injure youth in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police personnel thrashed and critically injured a youth during frisking in Srinagar. The policemen during checking at Lal Chowk pounced on the youth following an altercation when he expressed resentment against the so-called frisking that left him bleeding, an eyewitness said. People staged a demonstration against the atrocities and violent attitude of men in uniform.

A police official while confirming the incident claimed that they have started investigations into the matter. Meanwhile, body of a 28-year-old missing civilian, Adil Ahmad Wani, was recovered from river Jhelum in Srinagar.
