Indian forces cordon off Sopore areas

Srinagar, June 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, police and paramilitary personnel cordoned off several areas of Sopore and sealed entry points of the town. The areas which have been cordoned off include Noorbagh and Iqbalnagar while all entry points to these areas have been sealed and no one is allowed to move inside. Police have also erected barricades at multiple places in Sopore.

On the other hand, Indian police used brute force and fired teargas shells on anti-India demonstrations near main Chowk and in Arampora area of the town. Clashes between forces’ personnel and protesters were going on till last reports came in.

Shops, business establishments, educational institutions, banks and government offices are closed in protest against the civilian killings by unidentified gunmen in the town. Meanwhile, people staged massive protest against Indian state terrorism at Chak Badrinath in Pulwama. The protesters raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
