Indian agencies trying to foment sectarian discord in IOK

Srinagar, July 28 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has said that Indian secret agencies under a well-hatched plan want to stimulate sectarian clashes in the territory to divert the Kashmiri people from the real cause of securing their inalienable right to self-determination.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a media interview in Srinagar deplored that India claimed to be the largest democracy of the world but it had usurped all the democratic rights of the Kashmiris. He said that New Delhi was trying to suppress the ongoing liberation movement through use of brute force, killings, arrests and restrictions on people and Hurriyet leaders but it would not succeed in its nefarious designs.

He appealed to the international community to take cognizance of Indian atrocities against the Kashmiri people and play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with their aspirations. People held forceful demonstrations in Kishtwar district against the gang-rape of a minor girl by the members of Indian army-sponsored so-celled Village Defence Committee. They demanded severe punishment for the culprits.

The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in their statements expressed deep shock over the sexual assault on the minor girl. They said that under the black laws India had given its troops, police and other forces a free hand to commit serious violations of human rights in the occupied territory.

Liberation leader, Javed Ahmad Mir, has formally joined the All Parties Hurriyet Conference. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a function at the Hurriyet headquarters in Srinagar welcomed Javed Ahmed Mir for joining the Hurriyet Conference. He said that the APHC had always represented the real political and emotional aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Agitated youth protested and raised anti-India slogans at Hajin in Bandipora on second consecutive day, today, after they came to know about a puppet minister, Muhammad Akbar Lone’s visit in the area. Indian police resorted to heavy teargas shelling to disperse the protesters. The youth had pelted stones on the cavalcade of Akbar Lone in the same area, yesterday.

Unknown gunmen fired upon an Indian policeman in Sopore town, today, killing him on the spot.
