India changing demography of Kashmir: Ex-Indian MP

Srinagar, December 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, former member of Indian Parliament, Abdul Rashid Kabuli, has endorsed the claims of the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, that India is trying to change the demography of the territory.

Abdul Rashid Kabuli in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Thousands of non-state subjects from Haryana, Bihar and other states are arriving at Jammu and they are settling there. Certain elements facilitate their designs to get settled in the territory permanently. It is done to outnumber the population of Kashmir.”

Abdul Rashid Kabuli said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to appease New Delhi left no stone unturned in diluting the basic tenants of article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Sheikh Abdullah looked for ways and means to dilute the special status of Kashmir when he was puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir.

He said that Sheikh Abdullah even went on to say that article 370 was not a verse from Quran, which couldn’t be revoked. “Check assembly records and you will find Sheikh’s irresponsible statements pertaining to Article 370,” the Kabuli claimed.

Abdul Rashid Kabuli said that the dilution of article 370 started during Sheikh’s rule and it reached to new heights in Farooq Abdullah’s tenure as chief minister. “Mufti Muhammad Sayeed can’t be absolved as he as CM also tried to dilute the status of Kashmir,” he added. Kabli maintained that even today the process to change the demography of the territory was under way.
