Islamabad, February 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Measures Ahsan Iqbal has said that the federal government is taking all possible measures to provide all possible facilities to the exporters in increasing domestic exports, while the federal minister has said that to accelerate export-based growth, public and private Emphasized the importance of adopting export-oriented policies for sectors.
The federal minister expressed these views on Tuesday in a round table conference organized by the Ministry of Planning in a meeting with exporters to review the progress of domestic exports and the problems faced by exporters. In a round table conference, Ministry of Planning, senior officials of Federal Board of Revenue FBR, State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and representatives from various industries participated.
Speaking on this occasion, the Federal Minister said that continuous increase in exports is the only solution to get rid of the economic crisis, while he emphasized the importance of setting the target of increasing exports in every sector. The federal minister assured the exporters that the government is taking full measures to solve their problems and the Ministry of Planning is playing an important role in this regard.
The federal minister further said that exports are the backbone of the country’s economy, so Pakistan has no choice but to increase exports. The federal minister added that the government will soon organize a conference in which 50 brands of the country will be invited to highlight their work at the global level, while the federal minister emphasized the importance of industry-industry coordination. Referring to the two crises that the government has faced since coming to power in April 2022, the minister said that the floods of 2022 have badly affected the country and the worst economy that they inherited resulting in the current state of affairs. The government had to take tough decisions.
Professor Iqbal further said that economic stability is linked to political stability and political stability in the country is the dire need of the hour. He also stressed the importance of putting political differences aside and focusing on the country’s economy.
In the meeting, the exporters appreciated the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Planning. Exporters of various industries including textile, leather, meat, surgical and others also informed the Federal Minister about their problems, on which the Federal Minister assured them that the Ministry of Planning would facilitate them and solve their problems is playing a key role.
