Illegal detention of Masarrat Aalam Butt denounced

Srinagar, December 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) strongly condemning the continued illegal detention of its Vice Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt has said that his freedom sentiment cannot be weakened by prolonging his imprisonment.

The JKML spokesman, Muhammad Rafique Ganai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Indian government and its puppet administration were using every repressive tactic to suppress the ongoing liberation movement but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs.

He appealed to the international human rights organisations to take serious and solid steps for release of Masarrat Aalam Butt and other illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists.

Earlier, Masarrat Aalam Butt, who is languishing in jail for the past three years, was produced before the court of Session Judge in Kathua in a fake case. The court sent him to six-day judicial remand to Kathua District Jail.
