Hurriyet leaders express solidarity with Sopore victims

Srinagar, June 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders condemning the killing of civilian and pro-freedom activists in Sopore town said that such tactics could neither suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation sentiment in the past nor would be able to do so in the future.

APHC leaders, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt and Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, President of High Court Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom, Hurriyet leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, Mohammad Ramzan Khan and Farooq Tawheedi as well as the spokesman of Jamaat-e-Islami of the occupied territory, Advocate Zahid Ali, visited the families members of the victims and expressed solidarity with them.

Addressing people on the occasion, the Hurriyet leaders raised serious concern over the worst situation in occupied Kashmir. They said that such anti-Kashmir and anti-movement acts would not stop the Kashmiri people from taking freedom struggle to its logical conclusion. They appealed to the world human rights bodies to take cognizance of the innocent killings committed by Indian armed agents in the occupied territory.

Mian Abdul Qayoom in his address said that Indian intelligence agencies, armed forces, Special Task Force and police had let loose a reign of terror in the town and its surrounding areas and nobody knew as to who would be the next target. He urged the people to remain united to face the situation.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement leader, Shahid Saleem, and the Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi in their separate meetings and Hurriyet leaders, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Zafar Akbar Butt and Syed Saleem Gilani, in their statements condemning the murders in Sopore expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

They said that the incidents depicted the failure of the puppet regime. Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Zafar Akbar Butt also supported the call given by Hurriyet leaders for complete shutdown in the territory, tomorrow, and the march towards Sopore on Friday to register protest against the killings.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of United Jihad Council, Syed Salahuddin, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Sopore killings were carried out by Indian secret agencies. He added that Sopore and Islamabad were considered as strong forts of Kashmir’s freedom movement and Indian agencies had made these forts as their prime target. He also expressed concern over snatching of land from the Jammu Muslims, saying that such acts ware being executed as per the RSS plan to turn Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir into minority.
