Srinagar, March 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders have condemned the killing of a youth by Indian police in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district. The youth, Farhat Ahmad Dar, was killed and eight other persons were injured when Indian police fired upon peaceful protesters in Naidkhai, yesterday.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the killing as cold-blooded murder and called for strike in the territory tomorrow (Sunday) to protest against the killing of Farhat Ahmad Dar. He appealed to the people to stage demonstrations to draw world attention towards the Indian atrocities.

The Mirwaiz said that on one hand, Indian forces were killing innocent Kashmiris, while on the other, the people and leadership was not being allowed to visit the families of the martyrs. He said that the freedom sentiment of the people of Kashmir couldn’t be weakened through killings, arrests, detentions and other repressive tactics.

Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Hilal Ahmad War and Yasmeen Raja in their separate statements issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the cold-blooded murder of the youth in Naidkhai and crackdown on Hurriyet leaders and activists by Indian troops and police personnel in the territory.
