Higher imports of Petrol recorded in June – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi, July 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan has made a record import of 178,199 tons of petrol in June 2012 to meet the growing demand, as per the data released by Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC).

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, the import of petrol was higher by 9.37% YoY as against 162,924 tons recorded in June 2011. Petrol import during July-June 2011-2012 increased to 1.578 million tons up yb 49%YoY as compared to 1.060 million tons in FY11. The consumers have shifted towards higher petrol in wake of increased CNG prices and non-availability of CNG as an alternate cheaper fuel for vehicles.
