High Commissioner Tariq Azim urges Pakistani-Canadians to form All-Inclusive National Federation to represent Pakistanis in Canada

Toronto, October 30, 2016 (PPI-OT): Mr. Tariq Azim Khan, High Commissioner of Pakistan met with the representatives of various organizations/associations of Pakistan origin at the Consulate here today. During the meeting, the High Commissioner briefed the participants on his contacts with the community organisations in other parts of Canada. Building on his previous interaction with the community in Toronto, the High Commissioner sought suggestions from the community members regarding the setting up of an all-inclusive national federation representing Pakistanis in Canada.

The participants, while fully supporting the idea of a national federation, discussed the idea of adopting a constitution and appointment of office bearers on rotational basis from different parts of Canada representing various interest groups. There was a consensus to re-organize the Canadians of Pakistan origin under one umbrella.
