Govt has comprehensive plan of Rs 10 bln to revamp Radio Pakistan: Secretary Information

Federal Information Secretary, Akbar Hussain Durrani has said the government has a comprehensive plan of ten billion rupees to revamp Radio Pakistan.

He stated this while chairing a meeting of sectional heads of Radio Pakistan Lahore on Saturday.

The Federal Information Secretary said Radio Pakistan is a credible and effective medium to promote Pakistan's point of view and disseminate information both at home and abroad.

He said currently 2.5 million people are following Radio Pakistan's social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, therefore keeping in view these subscribers; we are planning to launch an official channel on YouTube.

Appreciating the role of Radio Pakistan, Akbar Hussain Durrani said that he has suggested Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to address nation over Radio Pakistan once a month.

Federal Information Secretary further said he has also proposed to Prime Minister that all Federal Ministers should give live interviews to Radio Pakistan for the promotion of the government's policies.

The Federal Information Secretary also listened to the problems faced by staff and officials and assured them to resolve their problems immediately.
